Open-Air Butoh Performance

SEHPURPUR

Courtyard of the Sammlung Scharf-Gerstenberg, Berlin

The performance begins at sunset. As daylight fades, spaces emerge from shadow and artificial light. The transformation of light becomes part of the staging.

In a present marked by increasing instability and contradictory realities, the piece asks how a body can persist when certainties begin to fracture.

“Sehpurpur” develops, through the physical practice of Butoh, a space between perception and dissolution. Gravity, breath, silence, and precise control shape the body and its movement.

What remains when seeing begins in the dark?
